Windows 7: Sensor PlatformPosted by SondreB on August 9, 20090 Part of Windows 7 is a completely new platform for Location and Sensors. This is a framework that tries to remove the old legacy of COM-ports for communication with external devices. Official Windows 7 upgrade chart is ridiculous by Nilay Patel posted Aug 6th 2009 at 4:29PM This is seriously Microsoft's Windows 7 upgrade chart, and it's ridiculous. It manages to highlight the insanity of shipping multiple OS versions while totally minimizing the good news: most Vista users will be able to upgrade in place to the corresponding 32- or 64-bit version of 7. That should cover the vast majority of people running Vista, but if you're still on XP or you're trying to do anything out of th... (more)

You’ve probably seen the postings in the past on this blog about the Simple Sharing Extensions (SSE) for RSS. SSE was originally introduced by Ray Ozzie on his blog as a way to enable syncing items between different points on the web. We’ve recently updated the spec to support Atom feeds as well. I posted the latest Simple Sharing Extensions spec to MSDN last month, at http://msdn.microsoft.com/xml/rss/sse. I’ve received a bunch of great comments and suggestions on the spec, and I’m in the process of... (more)
